Today is day 21 of P90X which means two things…
Week 3 went pretty well. I’m still struggling with a few of the workouts (especially the legs workout) but I’m seeing lots of improvements. I pushed myself hard this week and my legs are pretty sore today.
I stayed on track all week with the P90X diet plan and didn’t stray at all. I’m in the groove now and am finding it really easy to eat healthy. Even though I started following the nutrition plan from day 1, I still found myself thinking about a burger and fries when I got hungry. Now, not so much. It takes a few weeks of consistency to change bad habits, and now junk food doesn’t even come to mind when I get hungry.
I’m feeling really energetic during the day, and in the mornings I’m still waking up naturally at 6AM-6:30AM. A month ago, I couldn’t have gotten out of bed at that time with an alarm clock.
As far as the new pictures go, once again there were really no drastic changes — just small, gradual improvements. I’m seeing some more changes in the belly area and this week I also started to notice my face thinning out.
By the way, excuse the sweet tan lines… it’s not a new look. I was hanging out in the pool for a bit yesterday and somehow ended up with some of the strangest tan lines ever.
And here are my day 21 photos side by side with those from day 1…
And here are my measurements after 3 weeks of P90X’ing:
Last but not least, here is a quick summary of the improvements I’ve seen since day 1:

1The first photo really shows that your belly is starting to disappear. Your top two abs are even starting to come through! P90X is great, stick with the program, follow the diet exactly and give it your all and your body does the rest! Your results so far should be great motivation for you!

2@CBC: Yeah, the belly area is really where I’m seeing the results so far. You can’t really tell from the photos but my face is beginning to get thinner as well. Thanks for the comment!

3Awesome results man! I got P90X delivered and I did the fitness test today. I can tell this is going to be intense. I’m doing the portion plan like you.

5You look great, keep up the hard work. My friend Kris and I started this week and he says he can already tell a difference in the top part of my stomach. We did the plyometrics last night. It was really intense, I’ve danced for about 12 years, and have strong legs, I was really surprised about how sore I am from the lunges, and jumps. So it’s good to feel sore, although Im not looking forward to doing it tonight, but will do it anyway. I will have to get some before and after pictures up here soon! Im trying to get all of my friends into this too. But I think they are feeling to lazy to try. But maybe when I start showing results, they will feel motivated to try it.

6Just wanted to send a quick email and say that your results are really impressive. I have been really thinking about buying the P90X systems but find that I am completely afraid. I know it sounds stupid but I have gotten motivated before about trying to lose weight and I find something that I want to try and then after a week or two I seem to always be right back where I was- being a lard A$$ on the couch and even more depressed that I couldn’t complete my goals. I hate it, and my wife, who is actually a huge health nut and really in shape just makes me feel like crap about it. Everyone in her family are health nuts and you look at everyone in my family and we look like freakin overweight hillbillies from the backwoods or something. Lets just say I hope our kids take after her family in terms of health genes (except I got the good teeth, LOL). In all honestly, I am not writing this to have a pitty party just to ask if there are other out there who feel as depressed as me and have any words or advice for me on how this time might be the time that I actually see some results and get motivated to see it through the entire 90 Days.
I am about 5′-7″, 245 LBS and would feel and look great at about 190-195…just don’t know how to get back to there.

7Andrew… buy the program. If you do it every day for 1 week, you will FEEL the results. Even if you can’t see them, you will feel the muscles tightening up and strengthening. That is the motivation that keeps you going. Don’t get me wrong, this workout is TOUGH. But you do as much as you can and get better every day. Just look at the pictures above… thats awesome results with only 3 weeks worth of work. Anybody can do that! If your wife is such a health nut, get her to do it with you. Having someone else motivate you is a big help. Every piece of P90X literature says DECIDE – COMMIT – SUCCEED. If you can do the first 2, number 3 is easy. Its a 90 day commitment that WILL change your life…. but only if you make the commitment.

8Andrew,
It’s all about baby steps. You have to start somewhere. I have a friend who weighed 250 pounds in March. He is down to 205 right now. It just comes down to eating healthy and working out 5 days a week. You can have occasional steak dinner or candy, but only occasionally. I’ve been doing P90 X for roughly 2 1/2 weeks and I’ve lost 7 pounds and am really starting to tone up. I started at 180 and have dropped and toned since. You will see the weight fly off of you in the first couple weeks and once you start seeing results you’ll never look back. Don’t whine about it and talk about how depressed you are and just do it.

10OK.That’s it! I’m going to start today! I have had this program for quite some time and have done nothing! Me goal was to get in shape by me 50 birthday and its just about here. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be in the condition I had hoped for but all of your words of encouragement to make it happen is helpful. I follow up next saturday with results update. Thanks!
