I’m back!
First of all, I apologize for not updating for several days. Over the last week or so I’ve been stuck in the middle of a move and also busy getting my house ready to put on the market. If you’ve ever moved before, I don’t need to explain why I haven’t had the time (or energy) to get my workouts in!
The good news is, I stayed on track with the P90X nutrition program and haven’t seen any negative results from taking those days off. I actually think that I’ve dropped a few more pounds as I’ve still been really active (moving boxes, furniture, cleaning, etc.).
So, having said that — I picked up where I left off today and completed the day 33 workout which was legs, back, and Ab Ripper X. I wish I could say that everything went smoothly, but it was pretty rough. Legs is my least favorite workout in the P90X program and it did not disappoint.
I made it through most of the legs and back workout and then started to feel a little “off”. I made it through the first 3 minutes or so of the abs workout and then I ended up getting sick. I canned the rest of the abs workout, drank the P90X recovery drink and took my creatine, and then just relaxed. I feel great now…
I did notice a big improvement in my pull-ups today, which is definitely a result of the creatine supplement I’m taking. I continued to take 5g a day all week, so it’s definitely in my system now.
I’m really glad to be back in the swing of things and will be updating the blog each day again. For those of you who have commented that you’re getting started with P90X, how’s it going so far? I’m looking forward to hearing about everyone’s progress…
Stay tuned!

1Hey!
Congrats on your progress! I’m on day 13 of my P90X, and I’m also seeing results in my stamina and reps. It really is a kick your butt workout. I got sick yesterday also in the middle of my abs routine. I’ll check in with you again!
Bring it!

2@violingal: That’s great, congrats!
I got sick several times during the first week or two of the program, but then it got much better. I’m sure that I got sick today because it was the first intense workout I’ve had in about a week… 🙂
Keep me posted!

3I was wondering where you were!! 🙂 I’m glad you are still with it!! My husband and I are doing our 30 day measurements on Fri. so we are super excited. He has lost 5 lbs this first month but I can definantely tell he has lost inches. I have lost about 8 lbs so far and looking forward to see how my measurements have changed in the first thirty days. Thanks for the inspiration!!

5I’m on week 3, looking forward to next week.
Not sure if I’ve lost weight, but definitely able to do more than from the previous weeks. And Ab Ripper X is getting a lot smoother.
Except for the pull-ups. Just can’t do them, other than with a chair assist.
Any suggestions?

6@Rick: That’s great, you’re almost to the end of month one… 🙂
As far as pull-ups go, just keep using the chair and use it as little as possible when pulling yourself up. You’ll get much stronger over time and eventually you’ll be able to do them without the chair.
You might also want to check out creatine. It’s a supplement that I’ve used in the past with great success and I definitely see a boost in strength when I’m taking it. One thing to note however, is that people react differently to it so it may/or may not work for you.
I use AST’s Micronized Creatine Monohydrate product by the way, it’s excellent.

7Excellent to have you back on, JP! I doubt that your body lost too much of what you gained being that moving is pretty strenuous all in its own right. Anyway, good luck with the rest of the week and from here on out!

8@Anthony: Thanks Anthony!
I definitely had a workout with the move and staying on track with the diet really helped…
