Today is day 22 of the P90X home fitness program and it was the first day of my week off from weight and resistance training. This week focuses on core strengthening and conditioning…
The workout routine was yoga today, and I really enjoyed it. Last week was the first time that I really started to enjoy yoga and I can definitely feel the benefits of doing it. A few of the yoga poses still cause problems for me, particularly the tricky balance positions, but things are coming along.
Last week I mentioned the fact that my hands slip forward during the downward dog position and someone recommended a product called “Yoga Paws”. I intend on trying those out but I haven’t ordered them yet. Today I actually rolled the end of the mat a few times and then placed my hands on the area that was doubled up, and it seemed to help out a lot. The only problem is each time you go into that position, you have to take a second to roll the end of the mat.
The lower right side of my back is pretty sore from yoga, so I’m hoping that it feels better tomorrow…
I’m eating well again today and I’m still following the P90X nutrition plan exactly as recommended. Stay tuned!

1How long do you have to work out each day with this program?

2@Glenn: The workouts are typically between and hour and an hour and a half long.

3FB, one trick to stop the slipping, is simply soak the yoga mat in the bathtub with a little all purpose cleaner, rinse, then hang dry. A yoga instructor told me this trick and it has worked so far.

4@Mike: Thanks for the tip. I’m currently using a large treadmill mat, may have to pick up a yoga mat again to try this out…
