Today was day 47 of P90X and I did legs, back and Ab Ripper X. This workout isn’t exactly my favorite, but it went really, really well today…
I just finished my workout a few minutes ago and just had my P90X recovery drink and creatine. My legs are feeling pretty toasty right now, but overall I feel great. I’m really seeing progress in every workout now, and it’s especially noticeable during the exercises that have typically caused the most problems for me. Tonight, I saw big improvements with wall squats and single leg wall squats — two exercises that used to make me tear up and cry for mommy.
I ate well again today and am actually getting ready to eat my final meal of the day after this post. I got stuck running a few errands this afternoon which resulted in my eating schedule getting pushed back.
Last but not least, I really feel like this week has been the most rewarding to date. Sure, I’ve noticed the gradual improvements to my appearance from the very beginning — but I’m at the point now where I’m really starting to feel the effects of this program. Conditioning, posture, flexibility, balance, relief from back pain… I honestly have not felt this good in a long, long time.
Stay tuned, tomorrow is Kenpo X…

1Love the blog! I’ve been reading everyday for the last several weeks and you have really pushed me into making some changes in my life. I just signed up for the Beachbody game and ordered the P90X program along with the pullup bar, yoga blocks, and yoga mat. Can’t wait to get started, thanks so much for the inspiration and congratulations on your success with the program so far.

5I contacted you on Youtube about the supplements you used and I thank you for the info.
Another question… While using creatine have you noticed an increase in your energy and recovery time? Also what about the bloating? From your pics it looks like you are cutting up fine, so I am assuming I should not be worried with taking it? (If you had not noticed I am a little weary of supplements.. =-)….

6@MrJonkat: Hey Jon, nice to hear from you again.
As far as creatine goes, I’ve used it in the past and always had great success with it. It’s definitely a supplement that “works” for me, although not everyone reacts to it in the same manner.
I definitely notice an increase in energy and a boost in strength and stamina when I’m taking creatine. You will retain water when taking creatine, so you may notice a little puffiness.
Having said that, I’m not a doctor and am not in the business of giving professional health-related advice. I can tell you that from all of the research I’ve done and the many times that I’ve taken creatine over the last 10 years or so, I’ve never found anything that would lead me to believe that it’s harmful in any way.
If you’re not 100% comfortable with a supplement, you should not be taking it. You definitely do not need supplements to get into amazing shape, the biggest pieces of the puzzle are your diet and exercise program.
Hope this helps…
