Well, I’m 40 days into the P90X program and it’s hard to believe that I’m nearly halfway to day 90. The workout today was back, legs and abs — and if you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time, you’re probably well aware that this workout is my least favorite of the bunch…
The legs, back and abs workout actually made me sick to my stomach last week, so I wasn’t sure how today was going to go. Fortunately, I did pretty well today and didn’t experience any feelings of nausea. I was even able to complete single leg wall squats for the first time.
Another thing that I’m really excited about is my back. I’ve had some nagging lower back pain for the past few years and it seemed as though nothing would cure it. Even when I first began my P90X workouts, my back would occasionally act up.
Well, I’m happy to report that my back is 100%. I’m not sure if it’s the fact that my core has gotten stronger or the fact that I’ve lost quite a bit of fat around my waistline, but I haven’t felt this good in several years. I really didn’t even realize that my back pain was completely gone until today!
As far as the P90X nutrition plan goes, I had another great day today and there’s really nothing new to report in that department.
For those of you who are still pressing play, drop me a comment and let me know how things are going…

1That’s great news about your back, congratulations!
I’m on week 2 with P90X and things are going very well. The first week was very difficult, but I got through it and am staying steady. Finding your blog very inspirational, keep up the good work!

2@Josh: Thanks…
Congrats on getting started with the P90X program and making it through the first couple weeks. It’s not an easy program, but the hard work will definitely pay off for you. Stay consistent and keep me posted on your progress!

3I just finished Day 2 - Plyos. Tough stuff! I used to do a lot of plyos in college for basketball - it’s depressing how out of shape I am now!
Give me a couple weeks and I’ll hopefully be able to get through some of these videos.
I am really trying to grasp the nutritional end of it. The refraining from eating junk is not too hard (yet), but making sure I am hitting the designated food groups has been tough. I guess that comes with actually sitting down and having to think out what to eat.

4I have been reading your blog for the last couple of weeks and the funny thing about it is, not only am I on the same day as you but have had similar results. I will say yoga is probably my least favorite workout only because I am usually too exhausted to finish; but I am getting closer. Keep us up to date, it really motivates me to know there are a lot of other people going through the same process.

5@jayjayjajo: Congrats on finishing day 2, I find plyo to be a tough workout as well…
As far as the P90X nutrition plan goes, just map out your eating schedule and then refer to the food list when it’s time to eat. The portions approach is really simple, you’ll get used to the diet in no time.

6@Ray: That’s cool! I’m glad to hear that you’re seeing improvements as well…
I hated yoga in the beginning, now I love it. It’s still a challenge, but I always feel like a million American dollars when I’m finished.
Thanks for the comment and keep me posted Ray.
