I completed day 5 of the P90X home fitness program today and I’m starting to see some progress. Today’s routines targeted the back, legs and abs…

Back went well and I got a great workout with all of the pull-ups. I had some difficulty in the legs department however, specifically with the single leg wall squats. Those things are nuts! Hopefully I’ll see improvement during the next leg workout.

The Ab Ripper X routine went much better today and I’m seeing some big improvements already in that area. In addition to my core getting stronger, I think I’m starting to get a little more coordinated when it comes to the individual exercises and maintaining good form. I’m sure that I looked like a fish out of water the first few times I went through the abs routine… not pretty.

The fan that I picked up yesterday turned out to be a lifesaver. I definitely noticed an improvement when it came to taking breaks and I’m sure it was due to the fact that I wasn’t getting so overheated. If you’re doing P90X or thinking about it, definitely pick up a fan to keep things cool.

Nutrition wise, today isn’t over yet but here is a breakdown of what my meals are like for the day:

Meal 1: Ran out of egg whites this morning so I had a can of tuna, a cup of raw carrots, and a glass of milk mixed with a tbsp. of olive oil. This sounds gross but it tastes just like milk and only has a hint of olive oil aftertaste.

Snack 1: Low fat string cheese

Meal 2: Protein shake mixed with milk, whole wheat bagle, cucumber slices

Snake 2: Natural peanut butter and celery sticks

Meal 3: Steak, tomatoes, and fat free yogurt with fresh raspberries

Snack 3: Unsalted soybean nuts

Pre-bedtime: Raw carrots and tuna

Stay tuned…
