HELP ! Starting P90X on Monday (hold your applause!) and had a question that someone on here may be able to help with. I had a preworkout supplement (anadraulic GT) that i was wanting to use to help me get the most out of the workouts.. anyone used any preworkout supplements and have comments?? Did they help with P90X?

I'm in my first week of doing this program and i gotta say it's killerrrrr. The chest and back workout will tear you up and leave you for dead. But you're gonna get jackkked. For the meal plan just do the portion approach and eat lots of tuna. Tuna is the easiest thing to make. Tuna all day.

I started P90X. I did the chest and back on Day 1 and the plyometrics on Day 2. Today, my biceps and chest are extremely sore and my wife said that my chest and biceps looked visibly puffy. I'm worried that doing the arms especially on Day 3 could be asking for injury. Is the extent of my soreness normal? Puffy muscles? Is this strange? I'm not out of shape but looking to break through gym boredom.

I've been following since day 7of your p90x. Why have you stopped. It says the latest one has been day 52. Pls update because I'm basically comparing myself to you. I'm on day 48 and I'm lookin awesome. I can see my six pack when I tuck my stomach in. It's only a matter of time till it shows naturally.

Great job on your workout. An please keep on updating

hi guys, well it seems really cool how everyone motivates one another to do a pretty intense workout. 23 and really out of shape, 190lbs. bought the dvd's and i'm planning my nutrition cycle right now. I want to start it this Sat or Sunday depending on whether or not i am able to do some grocery shopping. any recommendations from the committed people on this site?

I see you haven't posted in a while, I must be the slow one in the class....wanted to start the program and found your blog (IT'S Great!) I do have one question, I am concerned about the pre-workout fitness tests. You blogged about requirements for the men...what about us girls? Don't want to purchase and not be able to use the program.

I ordered P90X a few days ago as well as the pull up bars. I'm excited to get the dvds and get started. What other work out equipment should I use to get started out aside from dumb bells and the pull up bar?

Nice job on the blog. I just found it today. I did the P90X from April through July of this year (2008) but didn't really do the diet. It paid dividends with an additional 3 1/2 inches on vertical leap and made me immune to ankle pain and other injuries that followed my outdoor fun (beach volleyball, ultimate frisbee, hiking, etc). Without the diet I'm not losing the whole gut but it makes me better at the things that I like to do. I then slacked off almost completely and am restarting the series again. I've had a few weeks of false starts (completing 3-4 workouts each week for the last three weeks) but think that I've got enough momentum to get back up to speed. I didn't notice the portion method in the diet guide. I might be able to do something with that. It is nice to hear about other people struggline with motivation and overcoming the inertia. A little word of warning to the folks that are borderline passing the fitness test. Be extra careful with posture and form. I tore a muscle in my back during the first round. 119 pull-ups looked good on the worksheet but it was a big setback.

On the fence, been using the gym consistantlly but feel I may be hitting the plateau. Always sceptical of dvds and the infomercial but the pictures and the results seen to good to be true.

Looking for a little push, a little encouragement, a little truth. What is the realistic cost to get started? Dumbells included? Any information would be appreciated.

To Corey from August 23. No need for anything outside of the DVDs. I bought a set of dumbells off Craig's list for $35 and spent double that on the bands (so that I could take them with me on travel) and that is all that I have needed. My progress matches day for day the author of this website and today (Sep 9) I am on day 31. For me I have found it important to eat at the right time. I usually eat 1 1/2 to 2 hours before the workout. If I come home after work and work out after having eaten about 4-5 hours before I find that my body will fight it. It is just a natural reaction - the body needs to know that food is on its way (meaning that it is already in your system) before it lets loose and gives you what you need - ENERGY!
