So what if you’re incredibly busy but still want to use P90X to get fit?

In this article, we’ll go over several ways to make time for your P90X exercise program workouts. Hopefully these tips will prove to be helpful as you’re juggling P90X and other time-consuming commitments.

First of all, it’s important to eliminate all excuses. Before you even begin P90X, make a decision to fit your daily workouts in — no matter what. Removing the option of procrastination is half the battle.

Secondly, cut back on TV time. Statistics show that most adults spend between 4 and 5 hours a day in front of the television. Watching TV can be a good way to wind down after a hectic day, but watching it for hours on end is extremely unproductive.

Last but not least, become a morning person! Studies have shown that people who exercise first thing in the morning are more likely to stick to their workout programs. Getting P90X out of the way early every day will prevent unexpected daily occurrences from taking priority over your workouts.

Hopefully these time management tips will come in handy when it comes to finding time for the P90X exercise program. Keep pushing play!

So where do things go wrong?

In this brief article, we’ll take a look at some common pitfalls that many P90X users fall victim to and discuss how you can get the most out of your 90 day workout program. Hopefully these tips will assist you in meeting your fitness and weight loss goals…

The first trap that many fall into when it comes to home fitness programs is setting aside a time to workout. Let’s face it — in today’s day and age we’re busier than ever, which is why it’s so vital that you set aside time each and every day to exercise.

Another area where many people really drop the ball is diet. If you truly want to maximize the results from your 90 day workout, then it’s important to follow the program exactly as it’s laid out — and this includes the nutrition aspect. When it comes to P90X, I’m a firm believer that the P90X Nutrition Plan is every bit as important as the actual workouts. Don’t sell yourself short by cheating on the diet program.

Last but not least, I highly recommend that you go back and read my post on how to make money with P90X. Beachbody offers a very unique business opportunity that actually allows you to get paid while you get in shape. If you play your cards right (which I can help you with), it’s possible to develop a substantial side income and get fit at the same time. If you’re interested in learning how to do this, shoot me an email at p90xquestions <<at>> gmail <<dot>> com.

Hopefully this quick article has given you some helpful tips on how to get the most out of your P90X 90 day workout. As always — if you have questions or comments, fire away. I would love to hear them…

This home fitness program uses popular hip hop dancing routines to help you tone your body and lose weight in the process…

The Hip Hop Abs workout is a product that was designed by Beachbody and a sports science major named Shaun T. (who also happened to have a minor degree in Dance/Theater). The unique selling proposition of this exercise program is the fact that it helps you lose weight and achieve a flat stomach without having to do crunches or sit-ups.

Additionally, the Hip Hop Abs workout program focuses extensively on using dance as a mechanism to lose weight. This will help you drain the boredom off of the regular routine and put more spirit in your workout regime. The fitness plan focuses on fun dancing moves that are based primarily on hip hop dancing routines.

The program comes in a series of DVDs and is available online. There are four distinct workout DVDs in the entire series.

The first DVD, talks about secret to flat Abs and is approximately 13 minutes long. Fat burning cardio is the second DVD which is around 30 minutes long, followed by the 25 minute long Ab Sculpt, and finally the Total Body Burn which is 45 minutes long. The program is designed to burn fat as well as tone your abs while doing the workout.

Hopefully you’ve found this brief Hip Hop Abs review helpful. It’s a great program for anyone who is tired of doing monotonous exercises to lose weight.

Bottom line? The Hip Hop Abs workout is a smart weight management program that can help you lose weight and sculpt your body in the process.

I just received an email from a reader who wants to get in shape, but he’s too busy for P90X…

Question: I’m thinking about buying P90X, but it’s saying I need an hour a day and I just don’t have more than 30-45”, max. Would this amount of time be sufficient? I’m willing to take more time to get in better shape, just wondering if the entire hour is required, or just suggested. Thanks…

Answer: Thanks for the question…

That’s the one thing about P90X, it does require a bit more time than other fitness programs. Would it be possible to do an hour every other day? If so, you could simply turn P90X into a 180 day program and workout every other day instead of daily.

Another option would be to try Beachbody’s 10 Minute Trainer program, which allows you to get a nice workout in in 10 minutes a day. It’s great for people who are busy, or who just don’t like to workout. I
got my Mom on the Ten Minute Trainer program and she absolutely loves it.

Do you have a question about P90X? If so, shoot me an email at p90xquestions-AT-gmail-DOT-com and I’ll do my best to help out!

However, there’s another major reason why you might want to give this popular home workout system some serious thought — the current economic recession…

In a time when people are cutting back on unnecessary expenses such as trendy gym memberships and expensive personal trainers, it’s nice to know that there’s an excellent alternative out there that will get you ripped without draining your wallet in the process.

While it’s true that you’ll spend a few dollars upfront to buy P90X and a few needed accessories such as the P90X chin-up bar, the money you’ll save in the long run when compared with a monthly gym membership is astronomical. In addition to eliminating those expensive monthly fitness club dues, working out from home with the P90X program will also help you cut back on gasoline consumption as you won’t be driving back and forth to the gym each day.

The real beauty of a workout program like P90X lies in the fact that it’s truly possible to get a world class workout from home, for free — all without bulky fitness equipment, wasted travel time between home and gym, and overpriced gym fees.

So, if you’re trying to cut back on monthly expenses and are still paying costly fitness club fees, try P90X instead. Your wallet and your body will thank you.

In a nutshell, muscle confusion is the secret sauce behind the P90X fitness system. It’s an an advanced training technique that accelerates results by constantly introducing new moves and routines into the workouts. The beauty of this is that your body never plateaus. Also, you’ll never get bored!

Whether you want to bulk up, get slimmer, or just plain ripped — there’s an endless variety of ways to mix and match the workouts so you stay motivated during the entire 90 day program.

Chalene Johnson is an exercise and fitness expert who began studying dance and martial arts at 3 years of age. While attending Michigan State University, she continued training in tae kwon do, dance, and aerobics.

In the early ’90’s, Chalene moved to California and created a group exercise class combining the hip feel of funk, sexy dance moves, and the power and strength of kickboxing. Soon after, Chalene began teaching other fitness instructors how to apply her unique brand of fitness.

In 1998, the incredibly popular Turbo Jam fitness program was born. Powder Blue Productions (Chalene’s company) trains and certifies instructors to teach the Turbo Jam program and today it is featured at more than 2,000 health clubs and fitness chains worldwide.

The Manduka Plyometrics Mat is a super-thick, shock absorbing mat that will provide the extra cushion needed for your spine, knees, hipbones, and elbows during high-impact P90X plyo routines.

The “Manduka Black Mat” is much thicker and denser than other plyo mats, and the slip-resistant surface allows it to stay put extremely well on both hard and soft surfaces. The large dimensions (26″ x 72″ x 1/4″) provide maximum landing contact.

Highly recommended.

So what makes an effective home fitness program?

In a nutshell, the best home fitness programs consist of cardio and strength training, stretching and flexibility exercises, and a healthy diet. To truly build a world-class physique, it’s vital to have a comprehensive fitness plan.

When it comes to your nutrition plan, you should avoid fatty, fried, and sugary foods. Instead, you should focus on eating lean protein, grains, low fat dairy products, fruits, and vegetables. Instead of eating that cheeseburger, have a grilled chicken salad with low-fat dressing (or none at all) and a bottle of water.

Stretching is another important part of a comprehensive home fitness program. You should stretch each and every day as it helps to prevent injuries.

Getting 30 minutes of cardio fitness every day is also vital. There are several ways to accomplish this, including bicycle riding, swimming, jogging, and jumping rope. If you prefer to stay indoors, elliptical machines and treadmills are commonly used.

Finally, your home fitness program should include strength building exercises to tone the muscles and give your body a healthy appearance. A few basic strength building exercises are push-ups, bicep curls (with dumbbells), crunches, sit-ups, pull-ups, lunges, and squats. Dumbbells can also be used with most exercises to increase the intensity.

The P90X home fitness program does a great job of combining each of these things into an easy to follow workout system. By eliminating the guesswork and laying out the exercise routines and nutrition plan in a step-by-step fashion, P90X makes it easy to get a world-class workout from home.

The AbTronic is another “miracle ab gadget” being peddled via T.V. infomercials, promising fabulous abs through the use of an electronic muscle stimulation belt. You can adjust the belt from low to high, but regardless of what setting you use, you’re not likely to see much in the way of results from the AbTronic.

The AbTronic targets people who are looking for fast results with little or no effort. If you’re not going to put effort into getting in shape, then you’ll honestly never see results. As always, the people in the infomercial are in excellent shape, but they certainly did not get that way by using an ab belt.

The product promises that this belt will help you lose inches in your mid section by using it for just 10 minutes per day. They claim that wearing this belt for 10 minutes will get you the same results as doing 600 sit-ups.

Even if the claims were true (which they’re not), doing 600 sit-ups daily will still not get you the results you’re looking for without adding a cardio routine with a healthy diet.

In my opinion, it’s unethical for a company to charge $70 for something that simply won’t produce the type of results advertised. Bottom line — if you want results, you’ll need to take off the AbTronic belt and get up off the couch. The inches are not going to disappear from your midsection while you catch up on re-runs of Roseanne.

The first step to getting in shape is to change your diet. Stop eating fast and processed foods and start eating lean meats, fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and low-fat dairy. Once your diet is changed, you’ll need to add a fat-burning cardio routine. This can be something like walking, jogging, jump roping, or jumping jacks.

Since you’ll be burning fat and eating better, you’ll start to see those six pack abs when you add abdominal and core strengthening exercises like crunches.

The final verdict on the AbTronic? Save your money.

The “Ab Rocket” looks like a glorified beach chair. To use the Ab Rocket, you sit on the seat which is a couple inches from the ground as your back is supported by 4 back rollers. The back rollers are there to support your neck and back while also giving your back a massage.

On each side of the Ab Rocket, you have handles so you can hold on during your workout. The workout is basically meant to target the abs.

As with many ab machines, the Ab Rocket advertises that those who use this machine will lose fat in their core abdominal area. As great as that sounds, no ab workout equipment will ever eliminate fat.

The truth is — a person can do 600 crunches everyday, but if they consistently eat the same foods and do not have a fat-burning cardio routine, the fat will stay. You may feel your muscles getting stronger and even feel that your stomach is harder, but it’s going to be buried under layers of fat.

As far as quality of construction goes, it’s not uncommon to hear of the Ab Rocket breaking within a few months. The machine itself is made to fairly low quality standards, yet it still being sold for nearly $100.

The resistance springs, which are meant to help you bring your body forward, break very easily. The resistance springs do not serve much of a purpose unless you’re a first level beginner.

There is an attachment you can buy for the Ab Rocket that is supposed to help you work your arms, but it’s a waste of money since you’ll get better results using dumbbells and classic pushups.

As great as it sounds to do crunches and a back massage at the same time, save your money. If you want to lose fat, stop eating foods that are high in fat and calories. Start eating lean meats, plenty of fruits and vegetables, whole grains, and low fat dairy products.

Also, make sure to get a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio per day whether this be taking a walk, jog, or doing jumping jacks. Add in some crunches and core exercises and I think you’ll see far better results than the Ab Rocket could deliver at any price.

The “Ab Scissor” is another Body by Jake workout machine. With as many products as Body by Jake develops for the abs, you would think they would eventually come out with one that is worth buying. Think again…

At first glance, the Ab Scissor looks like it would work your shoulders because you sit on a small bench and then grasp the handle bars above your shoulders. A lot of people do end up using their arms instead of their abs. Even after doing the exercises correctly and using my abdominal muscles, I still didn’t feel that I was getting much of a workout.

Like most of the Body by Jake fitness equipment, the Ab Scissor is not the sturdies piece of equipment in the world. The seat is way too small, so it’s not very comfortable especially for somebody who is overweight.

In my opinion, I just don’t see the point in paying $250 for a bulky ab machine when you can get better results for free? Also — due to the less than impressive construction, it probably won’t be long before something on the Ab Scissor breaks. Instead of taking a chance with equipment that promises often times unrealistic results, try a comprehensive home workout program for sculpting your abs.

When it comes to six pack abs, you’re really not going to lose any weight using the Ab Scissor (or with any abdominal workouts for that matter), so you need to add cardio to your home fitness routine. Cardio workouts will burn fat — without burning fat, those ripped abdominal muscles will be hidden under layers of fat. Mix in a healthy dose of ab and core exercises along with a healthy, low fat diet play and you’ll be well on your way.

In my opinion, there are much better uses for your hard-earned than forking it over for an Ab Scissor (or any other over-priced ab machine). Save your money and get great abs the old fashion way with a healthy diet, effective abdominal workouts, and fat-burning cardio routines.

The “Ab Rocker” is one of several abdominal products by the fitness line Body by Jake. This piece of equipment has a chair that sits about five inches off the ground, so you’re able to move with a rocking motion. You place your feet in front of you and rock yourself to supposed great abs.

The Ab Rocker is cheaply made, so don’t expect it to last a lifetime. It isn’t the easiest ab equipment to use and the movement seems jerky, as opposed to the smooth ab workout shown on the infomercial. You would think that something called a rocker would be comfortable to use, but it’s definitely a bit awkward.

There is a risk of injury while using this product because it’s easy to fall backwards while doing this exercise. If you decide to try the Ab Rocker, make sure there is nothing heavy or breakable behind you.

Once you have completed the workout, there isn’t much of a noticeable abdominal burn. I would say that this piece of equipment is probably best for a beginner — however, I wouldn’t recommend it based on the fact that it’s unstable.

The Ab Rocker costs about $70. There are plenty of ab workouts that you can do from home that will pose less risk of injury, be more effective, and are free. For example, the bicycle is a great exercise and it actually does work all the abdominal muscles.

Just like any workout routine, you cannot get fit abs by only doing crunches (on a machine or the floor). You have to have an entire body fitness program that includes a healthy diet, fat burning cardiovascular routine, and strength building.

Instead of spending the money on an Ab Rocker, a comprehensive exercise program incorporating core and ab strengthening exercises would be a much better choice.

The Ab Lounge is marketed through a popular infomercial showing people of all ages getting to sit in a comfortable chair while getting an abdominal workout. Like most infomercials, the Ab Lounge falls short of its promises.

The Ab Lounge looks like a reclined lawn chair with handles to grip on the sides and overhead. There is also a bar to rest your feet while getting a workout. It’s comfortable to sit in, which isn’t a surprise since the name suggests it’s a lounge chair!

The Ab Lounge is definitely not for anybody considered obese, so that’s a clear disadvantage to the product. I actually wouldn’t recommend this to anyone over 200 pounds because it’s built poorly and someone weighing too much could end up falling to the floor during the workout (or before they even start the workout).

While doing crunches with this chair, you feel little to no burn in your abdominal muscles. As great as that might sound if you’re trying to get an easy workout, if you can’t feel the workout in your muscles — you’re not getting results.

The manufacturers of the Ab Lounge claim that you will burn fat in your stomach while you also lose weight. These claims are unrealistic. It’s impossible to lose weight without changing what you eat and including a good cardio workout with your routine.

You’re going to get a much better abdominal workout performing regular crunches, so spending $100 for this piece of bulky home fitness equipment seems completely unnecessary.

Instead of buying the Ab Lounge, save your money (or buy an actual recliner) and get six pack abs at home the old fashioned way — with a proper diet, 30 minutes of cardio per day, and crunches. It’s a free workout and you’re going to see much better results in the end.

The first mentioned Denise Austin workout, Get Fit Daily Dozen has twelve exercises to do twelve minutes per day which is great for people too busy to make it to the gym. These workouts have a combination of cardio-athletic, cardio kickboxing, lower body sculpting, upper body sculpting and yoga. Kickboxing not only has cardiovascular benefits, but also provides strength building benefits to muscles all over your body. Yoga improves your flexibility while also reducing stress.

Body Burn with Dance and Pilates offers 30 minutes of dancing to get a cardiovascular workout, as well as Pilates that is done standing and on a mat. By doing 30 minutes of cardio you’re helping your body burn fat and build endurance. Pilates helps build muscles that are long and lean, so this is great for people who do not want the appearance of bulky muscles. Similar to yoga, Pilates also reduces stress and anxiety.

Her latest DVD’s are not the only choices available. Austin has a little something for everybody because her older collection includes workouts for the abs, cardio building routines, toning the body, fat burning and weight loss, fitness with the kids, staying fit while pregnant, and boot camp exercises.

Austin has written books on being fit over the age of forty, targeting problem zones that females typically have, and eating carbs to lose weight. Contrary to popular belief, carbs are actually beneficial to your body because they give your body energy.

If you’re looking for a more personalized workout, Austin also has an online program that promotes weight loss by offering a healthy meal plan, a personal fitness plan, and motivation.

If you’re looking to workout from home, pick a Denise Austin workout that works best for you. If you get bored with one routine, you can always switch to one of her many options.

The makers of the Ab Flex claim to provide an abdominal workout that puts pressure on the abs, causing the muscles to contract.

This is another piece of workout equipment that promises big results in a small amount of time. With the Ab Flex, you’re supposed to see results in a few days (unrealistic with any workout) by using the product for three minutes per day. Three minutes is supposed to be the equivalent to two-hundred sit-ups.

It doesn’t matter how many sit-ups you do with any workout machine, you won’t see big results unless you’re burning fat as well. You need to establish a good cardiovascular routine in order to lose pounds, otherwise your toned muscles stay hidden under layers of fat.

The product itself is very simple to use, but definitely not worth the money in my opinion. To use this for a workout, hold the Ab Flex to your abs while performing crunches. This gives you additional resistance with each rep, which is the reason you’re suppose to get a better workout.

Most people buy equipment to avoid doing crunches, but this just adds more work to the crunch. I don’t think the Ab Flex is horrible, but it looks more like a kid’s toy than a piece of serious fitness equipment. You’ll get much better results using dumbbells during your crunches, which are a lot cheaper than the Ab Flex.

There are two ways to use dumbbells for crunches. The first way is to hold the dumbbells to your chest and the second way is to hold the dumbbells over your head. You may want to start with the dumbbells to your chest because the overhead method is more intense and not recommended for beginners.

When it comes down to whether or not you should buy the Ab Flex machine, I would save your money. Instead, do crunches with dumbbells and add cardio and a healthy diet to your fitness routine. All this can be done at home and it will cost a lot less than buying the Ab Flex!
